A Comfortable World of Goo

from A Comfortable World Of Goo by Hans Rickheit

/

lyrics

I'm just a slob with my hand in my pants
I work hard at my job, but I can't pay the rent
I'm a slave to my circumstance, so what else can I do?
When I get home, I commence to sleep,
My teeth are tightly clenched, but my breathing is deep
My body is exhausted, so what else can I do?
I just lapse into a dream of a comfortable world of goo

This world is glutted with illiterate creeps
They all pay their taxes and they drive half asleep
But I'm just a citizen, so what else can I do?
I hide in my attic when the cattle-horn sounds
They all march together to the slaughtering grounds
It's an organized system, so what else should they do?
They just lapse into a dream of a comfortable world of goo

The atmosphere on fire, and the cities fall down
We clutch our plastic spoons with our heads in the ground
But we all burn together so what else can we do?
And long past the end of this narcissist race
This old Earth collapses and it dies into space
And it's ultimately meaningless, so what else should we do?
We just lapse into a dream of a comfortable world of goo
