His Monochrome Dog

from Hanssongs by Hans Rickheit

/

lyrics

Well, he's smothered himself in the marmalade jelly again
And he dangles his monochrome from his neck with a chain
And he never calls his mother
And he's dithering, shivering withering, gibbering

Look out, here he comes with his stainless steel grinder again
See, he'd dyed his mustache, and he wears his fur coat in the rain
But he's never seen to smile
And his monkey keeps hiding the thread from his lining

He raps on your doors, while he's perched on all fours, it's a game
And he slides out of reach as he clenches his teeth with disdain
And he's emptied out your larder
For he's twittering, sniveling, fingering, lingering

As the moonlight descend, he sits and surveys his terrain
And he pulls down his drawers to examine his private domain
And he never eats his custard
Now he's blithering, gibbering, shivering, withering
